When people think of moving to North Texas, city names that come to mind are Fort Worth, Dallas, and Arlington. All three have a long history of establishing Texas as a freedom-loving Lone Star state. Many residents have deep roots in the area going back many generations. We even have a few of them on our staff!
There may be several reasons a family is looking to rent a home instead of buying in one of these popular cities. First, they may be working for a company on a short-term contract. Or a young family would like to purchase a home, but parents want to raise their kids in a great neighborhood while they continue to save for the future. And some desire to enjoy living steps away from world-class dining, sports and entertainment without committing to a long-term mortgage.
We recently launched new city-specific pages for those who fit into any of these categories or have other reasons. And for residential property investors around the DFW region, we are always ready to manage more properties! Let’s look at these Big Three:
Fort Worth, Texas, is great for urban family life (https://www.fortworthtexas.gov/Home). Not only are the Fort Worth public schools considered some of the best in the country, but the city is abundant with commerce and culture. Healthcare and Oil & Gas are two primary industries keeping the city’s economic engine humming. And for fun, Sundance Square is the spot for locals and visitors to enjoy live music and great local food. Residents can wander the popular square and take in the friendly, relaxed vibe any day of the week.
The holidays are special in Fort Worth too! City amenities like The Botanic Garden offer magical Christmas moments with its annual Lightscape event (https://fwbg.org/lightscape/?gad_source=2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsZHj0OGiigMVMFR_AB0VhAZAEAEYAiABEgIIO_D_BwE).
Dallas, Texas is a city for sports enthusiasts. Although there are several great reasons to choose Dallas as a family’s urban homestead, we can’t help but make sports a big incentive. Basketball fans get season tickets with their hometown team, the Dallas Mavericks, aka “The Mavs.” Ice Hockey fanatics follow the Dallas Stars while soccer fans can get their “sports fix” with the nearby FC Dallas. Although the football team is called the Dallas Cowboys (https://www.dallascowboys.com/), they moved to a new stadium in Arlington, Texas, in 2009. Luckily, it’s a quick 30-minute drive on the I-30 E to get there!
Arlington, Texas has it all for families who appreciate an urban lifestyle! Renting a home in Arlington may be the right move for a family that expects to be near world-class amenities and good schools. As mentioned, the five-time Superbowl Champions, the Dallas Cowboys https://www.arlington.org/things-to-do/attractions/att-stadium/ have their home base (as well as several other sports teams). Arlington is also an academic powerhouse with the University of Texas, a well-known research university. There are plenty of things to do in Arlington for families who live there too. Some require an entrance fee, like Six Flags over Texas or Giraffic Park (https://fossilrim.org/tickets/), while other activities are entirely free or budget-friendly, like the city’s amazing water parks.
Our NTXPM Team can support families looking to live in the nearby suburbs. But for some, that won’t do. They want to be where the action is. We are expert property managers for townhomes, condominiums, and single-family homes around the Big Three North Texas cities, too!
